Teresa Yap, also known as "Teteng”, mother of Angelica Yap also known as “Patillas Girl”, was shot dead by unknown gunman in Caloocan last Sunday night. She sustained a gunshot wound at the back of her head that made her pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:20pm.
In a closed-circuit television (CCTV) camera of Barangay 131, Mrs. Yap was with one of her daughters with her niece and was about to eat at a roadstreet eatery when all of a sudden a man approached her from behind, shooting her at a close range. Yap fell and her family and other alarmed citizens in the area directly responded. Angelica went to the hospital after she learned about the incident. According to a relative, Tumping Fabian, Mrs. Yap received a lot of death threats by means of text messages saying she will be dead before Christmas. She ignored those threats but it made her to worry.
Reason behind the incident is still unknown. Police officials and investigators were still gathering information about the incident. On the other hand, residents were helping the barangay officials and police in their query.
